How the Floating Mode Works
- Automatic Activation: When water levels exceed normal wading limits, the vehicle detects the depth, raises its suspension, closes windows, switches the air conditioning to recirculation, and opens the sunroof as an emergency escape route.
- Propulsion: The SUV uses its four independent electric wheel motors to spin like paddle wheels, letting the driver steer and move at a slow speed of about 3 km/h (1.8 mph).
- Sealing: An IP68-rated sealed chassis and high-voltage battery insulation keep the cabin dry and prevent water from damaging critical electrical components during a short aquatic escape.
- Emergency Only: This system is strictly designed as a life-saving survival feature to escape flash floods or deepwater traps—not for recreational boating or regular amphibious travel.
- Post-Float Inspection: After using the floating mode, the vehicle requires a professional service inspection before being driven normally again.
